The gallery label identifies this black-granite statue as King Thutmose III and lists Karnak as its provenance. Its date line reads New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty (1550–1295 BC); this is the label’s broad dynastic range, not a precise date for this statue.

THE RECORD BEHIND THE OBJECT

A surface.
A photograph.
A point of view.

What the capture shows +

The photographed plaque reads 18th Dynasty. An earlier website transcription incorrectly read 19th Dynasty; the source photograph supports this correction.

Capture and processing +

48 raw images from a single session at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization on 19 August 2026, processed with Apple's PhotogrammetrySession (RealityKit) into a watertight textured mesh of 50,024 faces at 4096px. The archival file is 25 MB; the copy that turns in this viewer is the same geometry at 2.8 MB, mesh-compressed with a JPEG texture for the web.
