What happens when you visit

The site and its files are delivered through Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting a website involves processing technical information such as your IP address, requested URLs, request times and browser information. Hosting and security logs may contain that information. This is different from asking you to register or provide personal details.

I do not sell visitor information or use it for advertising. The website application does not include advertising trackers or visitor profiling. Hosting providers may produce operational statistics and security logs to keep the site available and investigate problems.

Cloudflare operates internationally, so technical data may be processed outside your country. Its handling and retention of service data are described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Preferences on your device

The archive stores the last object you selected in your browser, so you can return to it. It also remembers whether you dismissed viewer instructions during your browsing session. These preferences contain object identifiers or simple settings, not your name or contact details, and are not sent as a visitor profile.

The selected-object preference stays until you clear this site's browser data. Viewer instruction preferences last for the browser session. You can clear or block this storage in your browser; the archive remains usable, but may forget your preferences. The application does not set advertising cookies. Cloudflare may use security cookies when needed to protect its services.

Fonts and external links

The site currently loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google to retrieve them, sending technical request information including your IP address. Google explains this in its Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

If you follow a link to Wikimedia Commons, another website or your email application, that service handles your visit under its own privacy terms.

If you choose to contact me

Email is optional. If you write to me, I receive your email address and whatever information you include. I use it to answer your enquiry and, where requested, discuss or carry out a project. Please share only what is needed; do not send passwords, identity documents or payment-card details.

Correspondence is handled through email services and is kept as needed to resolve the enquiry, manage an agreed project or meet applicable record-keeping obligations. It is not added to a marketing list. You can ask me about the information you have shared, request a correction, or ask for deletion. If a record must be retained, I will explain why.

Free access and paid services

Archive access and released downloads are free. There are no plans for paid archive downloads, subscriptions or paid early access. Each record's licence still applies.

Commissioned services and consultation carry a fee unless I personally agree otherwise. If you commission work, we agree the scope, fee and any information needed for that engagement separately. No payment details are collected through this website.
